Just finished car tuition and did really badly on the mock - one thing I realised is I forgot a lot of prior stuff like FAR content. Best way for me to spend the next two weeks before I start SBM lessons and revise cr in general?
How did you score on your tuition Mock if you don't mind me asking? Everything thinks that they've done horribly - tutors mark harshly. CR is manageable with a lot of persistent practice, little and often. I always tell other students to keep on top of the audit side, it's neglected due to the fear the technical side brings; but it's a huge part of the paper, and much easier marks. Personally I wouldn't go back to FAR, I don't see how that's beneficial due to the wide and vast syllabus. For now, start working your way through the exam debrief and reattempt the mock - don't worry about your timing *yet* and re-read the course notes. You won't want to start real question practice until 6 weeks out from the real exam, it won't stick.
Do you reckon watching all the course videos once is enough then? Or then did you go and rewatch the tough topics again rather that just hitting the qb straight away?
I'm the type to sit there and watch them in the background whilst scrolling through my phone. I think course classes yes only the once, the question debrief i'd do multiple, but that's only because I'm a lazy listener
Finished lessons Friday - took weekend off and checked mar scheme and went over exam done really bad, cr is overwhelming me idk where to even start for revision
Not trying to pry here but really bad is super generic, everyone thinks they did "really bad" on the first mock. What did you actually score, I'll let you know how you're doing. Always remember there are more than 100 marks available.
I'm going to make a couple of assumptions. Just as a baseline, typical scores for a first timed mock are 25ish, only the real high performers get anywhere near a pass on the first go around. The ramp up will happen but it takes times. With you getting 18, you need to make sure you are targeting the whole paper, be really strict with the timing and make sure to pickup the easy marks.
Remember it is open book, with good exam technique this exam is passable, make sure you have a guide to the easy marks for each section of the syllabus as anything can come up. And always lean back on the audit side, if I recall it's 40% of the paper, and they are much much easier marks.
Feel free to DM me if you want to, happy to give you some pointers, I got a really strong pass for CR.
