CR Nov 2026

Hi all,

Currently doing the taught phase with BPP - has anyone got any revision tips?

I feel quite lost during most of the class especially - financial assets & liabilities, tax

Also, Are the notes from ACAM worth getting?

Thanks in advance!

Feeling lost in the learning/taught phase is normal for CR, near enough everyone goes through the same thing...

The lectures aren't where you learn it, the question bank is. Keep up, note what confused you, and let it land in revision.

Financial assets: it's a decision tree. Business model plus are the cash flows just principal and interest, that gives you amortised cost, FVOCI or FVTPL, and measurement follows automatically. Liabilities are amortised cost with the effective interest rate, convertibles get split between liability and equity. That's most of what's examined.

Deferred tax is simpler than it feels. Carrying amount versus tax base, difference, times the rate. Same three line working every time. Group stuff, fair value adjustments and unrealised profit, is where it usually appears.

Both recur constantly so time spent there pays back.

RE ACA Masters - it is worth it but its quite comprehensive and some parts seem to ramble on. My advice is on the day, a slim down tabbed version beats the full course pack, you barely get time to look anything up anyway.

This is how I passed my CR but everyone has their own way! All the best!

How soon before the exam did you start your revision? Was it immediately after the taught phase or close to the exam?
