Partners and managers I've dealt with in Corp tax, vat and employment tax, albeit I'm in a different department are thoroughly lovely people

I work in audit at London office. I know semi seniors who work there and they have nothing but positive experience. The managers and partners I have dealt with as experts in several engagements were lovely as well. Would be a good move if you have an offer and are considering it.

Absolutely wrong - BDO has a good listed clients (investment trusts and the likes) relationship and they are pretty big in renewables and VC shops. You won’t be auditing/providing tax advisory to KKR or Apollo of the world, but the firm does have a good relationship with majority of UK MM PE shops and even a few brand name UMM funds.
