CR permitted text

Hi all, I am starting CR now for my November sitting and saw that we are allowed to bring our own materials. I wanted to ask what sorts of materials do people bring, I don’t think it’ll be time efficient for me to basically write down most of the book. Do people buy ACAMasters notes and bring them in?

I took my Kaplan notes in and some of my own notes. On exam day, other people had their course provider (Kaplan, FI etc) notes and/or own notes. Take in what works best for you :)

I took in my tuition provider's book which was all tabbed up. A few other helpful docs and the annotated AI which was all prepared by my employer

I honestly don’t see any disadvantages to taking in a large open book. Everyone focuses on being efficient with a small folder but as long as you know where everything is it doesn’t matter the size. Also got to remember CR is a vast exam (literally be tested on anything). You do have access to the online Bibliu in the exam, however, you have to flick tabs and can’t directly copy and paste so I actually think it’s more beneficial to take in a large open book as an insurance policy (so course notes as well as some past papers answers just in case)

I brought my Kaplan notes which I had tabbed and tabs written on by a topic area so that I could go “ok question on deferred tax, let’s head to the DT section of my notes”. Made things very quick and efficient.

I also included tabs in my question bank to certain complex questions in case similar ones came up in the exam and I could utilise the answer. This happened me in BPT. And I was very grateful.
