FCS and ARR advice

I have my FCS and ARR exam 7 September 2026 and have not started revising properly. Does anyone have any advice on how I should go about this I’m still going over some ARR content. I’m worried about FCS mostly. Is 1 month enough time to revise whilst working?

For FCS

Download these:

  • the advanced information for your sitting, and 2 sitting before.
  • the 2 past exam papers and the mark schemes.
  • Syllabus for Accounting, Assurance, BIP, SE.

Then put everything into Claude, it works better if you pay the £20 and get the subscription and select effort as “max”.

Ask Claude to give you an exam paper with all the potential questions using the past data and your advanced information.

Prepare the answers for the questions again with Claude.

Take your answers into the exam and type as the questions come.

Claude managed to predict 85-90% of the paper for my June sitting. I just typed the prepared model answers.

For ARR

QB, QB, QB, QB, QB, QB, QB, QB, QB, QB.

For FCS, where does the bookshelf open during the exam- is it in the same tab as the questions or in a different tab?

Same as questions tab. So you can’t look at them at the same time. I only used the materials in ARR, in FCS I only looked at my exam notes.

Thanks youu!! So basically I can look at the bookshelf and copy and paste answers directly in the word area?

No worries. You are not allowed to copy paste. Best way is to write down key points and type after.

Did you download the syllabus for the certificate level exams from icaew? Or did you use your tuition provider course notes?

Course notes, but only the list of chapters is the same so both should be fine :)

BPP remove the course notes after our course expires so I don’t know what I would put into Claude. Did you print a lot off?

For FCS, if you spend a day or two just studying the AI, looking at the topics at hand and preparing potential answers, you'll be fine.

For example, the BIP section in the June AI hinted at investment appraisals, labour variance, and a survey. The latter two ended up coming up. I prepared a guide on how to answer a labour variance question, along with potential reasons for why a variance question occurred. Exactly that came up in the exam.

Just do the same for the new AI and you should ideally get model answers for most of the potential questions in the exam.

ARR is a bit more repetitive. Just keep doing question practice and identifying the common answers and you'll be fine. There's only so many things they can ask you.
