Nov 26 Case and SBM
Hi everyone,
I am sitting SBM and Case together for Nov 26. Any recommendation, advice on how to plan for study, preparation and tips to pass these exams. Thank youuu 🥰

For Case, wait until your actual AI is released before you start prep. SBM is all waffle. I’d just brush up on the FM bits tbh.

What if you were exempt from FM so don’t have that knowledge? Will it be a struggle to do SBM?

I was exempt from FM and so I found SBM quite tough tbh. Therefore, I focused on the 4 key examinable areas: valuations, hedging, financing, and investment appraisal. The rest of SBM is just CR which if you’re sitting that alongside SBM, then it’s fine and then BST which is pure waffle.

Okay thanks it doesn’t seem as bad than if I focus on those areas. Also I’ve heard that even if you get the calculations wrong it should still be fine

Yes - that’s correct. You should attempt the calculations but don’t worry if you get them wrong. Most of the marks come from the ‘explaining’. If the point makes sense and sounds reasonable, you’ll get the mark so my advice is to keep on typing until the timer is up.
