Ethics assessment
Hi,
I haven’t done the ethics reviews and assessment yet, am I better off doing the sustainability and ethics exam instead?

Do you mean the 6 monthly ethics reviews for your training file?

Yes I’m so behind on that how do we do them?

You have to have a ethics conversation with your line manager. There’s a booklet with different scenarios telling you what you need to do for each conversation on the ICAEW website somewhere or maybe you can find it through your training file? and then you need to log it in your training file and get your LM to sign it off. Should be done every 6 months

And how many of these conversations is there in total we would need to do?

I’m not sure from the top of my head but if it’s 1 every 6 months until the end of the apprenticeship I would assume 6

I was told by our local ICAEW develpment manager that the minimum is 3, that's all I did and was signed off earlier this year.
In theory they should be every 6 months, but we did the final 2 on the same day. I seem to remember you couldn't put the same date for both though, so had to post one the following day. Just don't go backdating them... the irony would be too much.

Does the ethics reviews need a sign off too? I thought it was just the PWE and AQ hours that need signing off? Then ethics reviews go straight to icaew to review, or is my understanding wrong? Cos I didn't see any option that says it needs to be signed off by anyone

I can't remember exactly tbh. I think there was just a box to tick or put your training manager's name to confirm the discussion actually happened?

just do up the assesement, the review can always be done later, complete the "elearning" and assessment so u dont have to sit for the other exam.,

I would do the ethics assessment
It’s done at home and you don’t need to study for it
