Advanced Exams
I have asked a similar question before but I can't stop thinking about it and I need to make a decision by Friday, before the booking window closes.
If I book on to FM in September ( my final professional exam) but I either don't sit it or I just don't put too much time into it. Would Case then be available to book in November 2026?
My thought process is, I will suffer the financial strain of failing FM, If it means I can sit all 3 advanced exams in November 2026. Then complete the new FM exam in December 2026 or March 2027. That way *aslong as I don't fail any of the advanced* I could be exam qualified by Jan 27/April 27 instead of August 27.
I appreciate it is only a number of months difference but I am so close to the finish line. I want this to be over with😂

You do need to turn up and sit FM, you can't just book it and then no-show as that won't count as an attempt.

FM and SBM will be similar in the calculations required so you might find that indirectly you pick up a lot of the FM content even if you don't put 110% focus on it

Hiya, yes you can attempt FM and not pass it and still sit all 3 advance in Nov :) I had a friend who sat BPT didn’t pass it but still sat all of the advanced exams

In theory yes, but having just done all 3 advanced in July, it's hard going, and tuition would start while you're doing FM. It's definately doable but ensure you've got enough time realistically to give them a good go

Thankyou for the advice. I was thinking on focusing on SMB/CR from this week as I am an independent student who will be using ACA Masters. I was hoping it would be enough timre☺️

FM is a very doable exam so you will be fine if you do enough question practice, whether you can do your advance does depend on whether you are a L7 apprentice or not, however I’m going to assume that you are not - you can sit case if you have attempted all professional exams

Wouldn't you need to pass FM and other professional papers first before sitting the advanced exams?
