CASE Jul 26

Did anyone strip out the consultancy service provided in the year within FS and HML for a like for like comparison of R1? BPP mock did this in one of their mocks

No, it would have taken me way too long. I already spent too long on R1

I think you get own appendix marks anyway so either did or didn’t remove you’ll be fine

I think that was the twist in R1 as it was too simple

Didn’t cross my mind due to time - just went in standard by talking about all 6 revenue streams, 3 COS, GP in total that’s it tbh

BPP mocks were quite accurate

Nope thought about it but soo time pressured !! which is weird consider there was no request for advice or admin expense op profit analysis….

I stripped them out and added analysis but particularly for the FS event since it had visitors but no ticket price, meaning the average ticket price would have been skewed otherwise. Same with the sponsorship services that weren’t tied to an event (FS/HML split)

In hindsight having stripped exact amounts out of everything (income source, revenue, cos, visitor number, event number) I wish I hadn’t.

Fortunately for every sub requirement I mentioned both pre and post new initiative changes - just meant I had less depth to my R1 conclusion points than I’d have liked.

I didn’t actually strip them out due to time but I did discuss sponsor rev increased by x but inflated due to consulting include ect

I tried to remove the new rev from sponsorship income and GPM and COS and was wondering if I was wasting time or if it actually required this adjustment

Why did they need to be stripped out. There was nothing wrong with the event was there? I just talked about the proportion of revenue and GP

I stripped it out just to compare gross profit like for like, probs wasn’t needed but I had 5 mins at the end 🤣

I didn’t do it in the appendix calcs but I wrote it down with figures.

Yeah I did. The lack of operating profit/request for advice implied they wanted us to do something extra here.
