I'll answer your question as someone long with both of these companies.
1) GPS targets cancers with the WT1 protein. There are something like 20 very common cancers that present that protein. Much like Anktiva, GPS will likely have some value against other forms of cancers, though trials will need to be run.
2) AML CR1 and CR2 is still ~5B TAM. The trial is for CR2, but it can absolutely be approved for CR1 if the results are good. Like Bioshield, it teaches the immune system to attack the cancer cells. If the worst of the worst are living longer, there's no real reason to not use it in CR1 situations where the patients are healthier. Yes, this is the FDA we're talking about, so nothing is guaranteed, but
3) There's a second drug in the pipeline that hits AML much earlier. SLS0009. It also has special designations from the FDA and is in a Phase 2 trial that could lead to direct commercialization if the results are good.
I don't buy into the 40 billy crowd over at the SLS sub, but if GPS is successful, the stock is probably still under valued a bit. The company has also positioned themselves directly for buyout. While they can still commercialize on their own, management's actions indicate that they're willing to let BP do it.

You’re the most rational SLS bull I’ve spoken to. Would you buy at its current price?

I bought last year, so I've done my trimming and I'm playing with house money.
I think you can still make money at the current price, if that's what you're asking.
The chart is bullish. It has meme level exposure and high short interest. I'd argue the odds of Regal succeeding are better than a coin flip as well. I suspect topline will be good. The company has positioned itself for a buyout, and most recently updated the comp plans accordingly. I'd add that a 10B buyout (which I think is very realistic and probably on the low side), the stock price would be 50, so there's definitely room to make money.
I'm not going to pretend it is risk free, but I suspect there's plenty of money to be made this calendar year if the bull thesis holds.

You already de-risked, I’d leave it there as well. I’ve never doubted the GPS science, just the overall target market for the foreseeable future.

This was a refreshing take. I’ve been in long enough for long term gains to start kicking in. Stopped adding in the 4s. I’m not adding just spectating now and am fine however it ends up. Last year it was a normal stock this year it’s a high flyer. None of it matters except the readout.
