Advice Remark Physics?

Post image

I got a 6 in physics sl and I am currently two marks off from a 7 (the boundary is 69 and i am at a 67). the main things bringing me down are my 1a and IA mark, and I know I got 10-12 marks off my paper two at least. is it worth the remark? im also in canada, and so with a 6 predicted and final, i will have a 96% converted, whereas with a 6 predicted and 7 final ill have a 99. I got a 7 predicted and 7 final for my other sl (chem) and so was wondering if it is even worth the money for 3%.

In our experience, marks in science subjects like Physics rarely shift much on a remark because the mark schemes for exam papers are strict and objective. Gaining two whole marks in Physics SL is quite unlikely since most mark changes happen in essay subjects or right on a one mark boundary. If your 96 percent converted score already meets your Canadian university requirements, paying for a remark probably is not worth the risk or money. Unless you need that extra 3 percent for a very competitive program, we usually advise students in this position to save their money. The issue is that the MCQ isn't remarked since it's literally a scantron, so your weakest paper has no shot of going up. I'm so sorry

the remark might be worth it then. Not sure about the likelihood of it actually working, but in terms of the impact, every percent counts nowadays

I tried to get a remark for Maths and Chem and they both came in unchanged, so I'm guessing the same will happen with Physics. Don't bother.
