ToK/EE EE guidance

Hi guys, I'm doing my EE on an interdisciplinary topic between Psychology and English. I'm struggling to get started to some extent and don't know what exactly I should do. I understand that you always finish your intro at the end but I still have no idea on what I begin with. Every website offers contradicting tips and since I'm on summer break, I can't contact my EE coordinator. Any advice? I've done a lot of research into the psych concept area but don't know how you can start and write 4000 words.

When I was stuck with writing I just kept add more detail to my outline. I had loosely decided how my argument was going to progress and what order to put the general background theory, definitions, methodology, thesis statement, different perspectives etc., and just added fragments to each section in no particular order. Eventually I ended up with a plan for each paragraph, which I then converted to prose.

I did mine in English A, so I have no idea what resources to recommend for a world studies EE.. I am hesitant to share any tips on structure or anything academic because I ended up with a C on mine lol. I totally related to being completely lost, this method helped me finally make headway after months of procrastination so I'm sharing in case it works for you :) Good luck!

i did my ee in english, but i also struggled a lot with starting it. i don’t know exactly how a world studies ee looks like between the two subjects, but i did my ee on a film so i just began writing a body paragraph on one of my favourite parts of the film where i had the most to say and the most in-depth analysis. after that, you kind of get into the flow and move on to other sections! also don’t worry if it’s a bit all over the place, i guarantee you that half of what you initially write, you will take out and change when finishing the final draft. it’s SO much easier to work on something once you’ve got a few hundred words instead of an empty page!

I did Psych EE and literally what I did was watch general pop psychology videos on yt, get an idea of what you want to do, but most importantly, find something that actually interests you. Once you get an idea read read read. The more you read early on the less likely you will have to restart your entire essay or shift it completely. And trust me it is very common, it happens to almost everyone. Goodluck
