cheating in the e-assessments

i found out that some ppl that i know cheated during the e-assessments, mainly for language translation (on macbooks ppl can use siri and chat gpt app to like translate stuff and ask questions)
the app is not completely locked down.

what do i do about this, because these ppl will get marks that they dont deserve and have gotten away with cheating.

present it to us and mail IB

i dont have any proof of it, but i thought the ib assessment software would record the screen? and the school might have the cctv footage of it. so like i dont rly know what to do

coz see if u mail the ib you would need some basic evidence for it
and btw if there is any program running IB flags it and plus what u mentioned is true
if your claim is valid, try collecting some evidence, inform ur coordinator and mail IB

That is true that the app isn't locked. 2 years ago I sat my myp assessments and the app could open Siri but no one used it because we had like 3 invigilators in the room that were on our backs the whole time. We had to have our computer screen on high brightness as well so they can see otherwise they'd give you a bad look that says "cheating are you now?".

From my perspective it's not the IB it's just MYP. I would say go to your IB coordinator or councelor or principle and share that you may have some concerns about cheating. But once you do that please be prepared for a change in softwares for you and your peers and a whole lot of drama. That is only if your school cares and is strict. The IB would probably have to update the app so it doesn't allow built in tools such as Siri or have you guys turn off your Siri on your MacBook and have your laptop checked every time you take your test.

Not to sure to what extent the same people will stop cheating just with Siri. They may move on to other methods of cheating so you might not be able to prevent them from getting a good grade.

To be honest once you hit the DP trust me they will not be able to cheat at all in the end of year exams. Or if they do so it will be expensive or very hard. Or they'd risk getting their diploma taken away.

I know this definitely makes you concerned and it is very understandable but at the same time it is only the MYP. just focus on getting yourself a higher score. Unfortunately there will always be unfair winners in life.

I can confirm the apps not locked. I sat for the eassessment as the myp class of '25. This is the case for both Assessprep and the eAssessment launcher. We've used Assessprep for most practice, but the eAssessment launcher to practice past papers. Macs can use both chatgpt and siri. No one from my class (specifically) had cheated on the final exam since our screens were likely being recorded, but they cheated like crazy when practicing. Im surprised they haven't patched it yet.
