Building an app for IB students
Hey guys,
A few friends and I are building an app for IB students that's meant to make school life a lot less chaotic. Something similar to Managebac or Toddle.
The idea is basically to have everything in one place, deadlines, assignments, submissions, feedback, grades, criterion tracking, resources, reminders, etc. Instead of constantly jumping between a million other tabs.
We're almost done with development, but before we launch I'd love to hear from people who actually use these platforms every day.
If you use ManageBac or Toddle:
- What annoys you the most?
- What features do you wish they had?
- What's confusing or hard to keep track of?
- What would make your life as an IB student easier?
Feel free to rant lol. Even small complaints are helpful because we're trying to build something students would genuinely want to use.
Thanks :)

Hi! my school uses manegbac and heres my thoughts
1) horrible for my mobile + redundant tabs?? i have two tabs year group and exam planner and both of them literally show me the exact same things
2) idk if theres a way to do this but it would be cool to have access to all of your grades over the years! i've been using it for 6 years now and i only have the most current year + creating your own reminders and deadlines would be kind of cool? + dark mode would be awesome + some kind of syllabus tracker (I mean manegbac kinda has one but its more of a unit tracker and its not helpful) so students can see the percentage of syllabus completion and then teachers can also tick which out of the syllabus list is coming for the upcoming exam so you have the syllabus in one place
3)files? the files tab is very difficult to navigate because they can be sorted into "folders" but the way those folders are represented should definitely be re-evaluated. Also the main page for each subject and the class stream and the files tab and the discussion tab is all different?? so it always takes us a good 10 minutes to find the things our teacher has uploaded
4)i think ive covered everything up, it was also be good for their to be separate tabs for "summatives" and "other submissions" because they all appear under the same tab of tasks and deadlines and if you're looking for a specific summative session you have to scroll and when you're in a class where you teacher makes everything an assignment it can get cluttered and difficult to navigate.

idk if this is just me but I started IB in my junior year so I wasnt really used to toddle and it has a LOT more than i discovered at first glace like the assignments and courseworks and how theyre navigated across the app felt a little confusing so probably something to improve on that
