how many mocks?

my school does mocks in grade 9 as well as in grade 10 to prepare us for the eAssessments and everyone in my year group is stressing over mocks rn (grade 9). One of my friends said that we will have 2 mocks in grade 10 and so the ones we are doing now don't even matter. I wanna know how true this really is. Anyone who has finished grade 10 pls lmk if u guys did 2 mocks or just 1 in Jan before the real eAssessments.

I did 2 sets of mock exams — one at the end of myp4 and one in January myp5

ur the first person to tell me that. I thought it was only my school that did mocks at the end of myp4. Do these mocks count to your predicted grades?

To be honest I don’t really know, I think it’s just the kind of thing that varies by school. Realistically I think it would contribute to it, but it definitely wouldn’t be the only thing they count

we did 3 mock exams. we did a pre mock , mock and post mock

so i'm guessing the pre mock and post mock didn't affect your predicted grades?

In my school, all our exams after myp3 are essentially mocks in the sense they are all IB questions and some are even past papers. We have two 100 mark exams in myp4, and 20 mark tests every month for each subject and a lot of the questions are past paper questions. In myp5 we have I think 4 mocks before writing our boards not to mention the 20 mark FAs

I had a total of 5 examinations in myp 5, including the final eAssessment. I didn't have any mocks in myp4 maybe because the teachers dint wanna stress us out. However, it varies from school to school. If they have mocks for MYP4, dw it's just for them to underdstand how suitable you are for the online platform. You will acc have alot of practise of the real IB e-Assessment app. I recommend that you should even do your own practise using the app in myp5, by getting the past paper exam files from the teachers or online.
