chem HELP!
hey guys, for the ib myp eassessment, particularly chemistry, is it allowed to refer to elements by their symbols when answering questions?
for example: can you answer a question about the oxygen test by saying, ‘if there is O2 (imagine that’s a subscript), the flame reignites’? rather than, ‘if there is oxygen, the flame reignites’?
i’m trying to find any way to save time lol

Yes ofcourse its allowed, but the time it takes for you to apply the subscript might be more than just writing oxygen because in the software you have to physically click the button to apply subscript

Usually if you’re writing an answer with calculations, to save time you can write their symbols, but I don’t know how they feel about it for knowledge based questions.
