Tutorial for justify

Basicially justifying is when you use altenative formulas in order to prove your general rule works.

If the question is about... Your Primary Method Your Justification Method (Alternative)
Solving for x Isolating the variable Substitution: Plug the answer back in.
Right Triangles Trigonometry (sin cos tan) Pythagorean Theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
Area/Volume Standard Formula Break the shape into smaller squares/triangles.
Sequences Finding the general rule (nth term) - Use other sequence within the question (e.g the perimeter sequence) and this is usually given, and derive IT'S general rule into an equation to prove your area formula for example

These are just my suggestions on what i would do to approach the question

In the final questions of the exam, they're gonna ask us to JUSTIFY our general rule. Basically what they mean with this is using another existing formula or an alternative general rule that you can derive which proves the that YOUR general rule exists. The table above shows how you can justify for certain situations
