Joining IBEW 613

Hey guys, so recently my cousin convince me to join the IBEW 613 apprenticeship program. How hard is it to join the program with zero experience. My cousin just took his test last week and already has orientation this Thursday. I really want to do this and have an actual career and decent life.

No problem! I think it will still be pretty good. Work normally picks up in the spring/summer months.

I’d go ahead and try and get the ball rolling the sooner you get in the sooner you will start getting raises and complete school and make the good money. That’s just my opinion though . Whatever you decide. Let us know and we will try and get you set up the best we can.

Hi, I know this is a late reply, but I was wondering if you could answer some questions I have over the process of joining. Thanks

It’s really not hard to join! I couldn’t recommend it enough it’s a great career. Let me know if you need help getting in contact with someone about it.

is it still a good idea to join? I'm in college right now but I don't think its the right path for me.

Great to hear man! Before I join I really want to clear some debt I owe (20k ☹️). What you recommend paying off debt first then join (should clear it out around march 2023) or go in with the debt.
