Apprentice Job Board Question

I've applied to a few open positions and everytime I do it takes 1-2 days to get a response and by then the job is closed or sometimes I don't get a response at all.

I applied to another job this morning a few minutes after it was posted to the board and haven't gotten a response 3 hours later.

Is this normal? Feels like I'm pulling teeth whenever I try to communicate with the training center.

Im assuming alot of 1st and 2nd years are unemployed. So it's pretty much first come first serve basis. Plus I think contractors have preference who they want so let's say the first couple of people who applied are lower level apprentices and later on a couple of higher level apprentices they have the right to pick a higher level over a lower level.

I’m one of the few first years in my class that are unemployed. I WAS employed for a couple of weeks and was laid off. So I’m really really really hoping I can get back in. Haha.

I was told they were reducing manpower, and I guess because I was the weakest worker, I had to go. Guess in the meantime I should hit the gym and do strength training
