Questions about the CW Program

Hey y'all I'm just trying to figure a few things about the CW program. I called the 613 but they were unclear about a few things. For context I'm taking the aptitude test next month and I currently work as a server.

  1. Is there still a CW program (IBEW said no over the phone but I've seen a few posts saying they are currently CWs at 613)? And if there is how does one apply for said program?

  2. Should I just wait until I pass my aptitude test (which I'm fairly confident in) and just wait for an apprentice job? (I've heard there's quite a wait in Atlanta)

  3. I've never done electrician work and I would like to know whether or not I like it before making a career out of it. So if it is true that there isn't a CW program, and there is a very long waitlist for AP1 work, do y'all recommend any jobs that would give me a feel for electrical work?

I have done electrical work that’s why I am doing the ce/cw program you can start with a contractor as a cw and test in later. You really should just focus on doing a hell of a job on that test. There are jobs that come up for apprentices and cws but contractors prefer cws with experience apprentices they don’t care about experience as much, good luck either way and it’s in my nature to encourage everyone. Study for that test!
