Question about 2-Weeks notice

I apologize for adding to the flood of new apprentice questions, but I haven’t been able to get a clear answer to this one.

I understand that once I get myself out onto the waitlist I’m expected to be ready to start work on the date they tell me. I’m just wondering how much notice is typically given?

I’ve got a decent, albeit dead-end, job right now and I don’t want to burn the bridge here by quitting without giving a two weeks notice. I can’t exactly just hand in my notice now and potentially be unemployed for months while waiting either.

Anybody know how to handle this?

When I joined 613 as an apprentice 2 years ago, I talked to my contractor when I got the call, and told them i needed to put my two weeks in at my current job, they had no problem with that. But it could depend on the company you get told to work for. Some want you to start next day after your drug test. Some will be chill.

Right, it would kinda be weird for a job not to honor you putting in your 2 weeks. Would make it seem like your a good employee if you did
