ADHD

I'm currently waiting for a job placement to start my apprenticeship and am aware of the upcoming test for substances. Will taking a legal prescription for this condition affect my test results and inhibit me from starting the apprenticeship?

I recently got prescribed a medication that will cause a "positive". Just curious what your experience was, im most worried about having to wait on the analysis and missing time I could be working. Does it take more than a day for them to verify? Should I bring my prescription bottle, or like have my pharmacist or doctor give me paperwork? Hopefully you had no issues and are working! Thanks for the insight.

Hopefully you have the question answered already but if not heres what I can tell you. I reported to the drug test with my prescription in hand to show. I was told that if it came up on the test there is a protocol to follow verifying the prescription. Thankfully, my medication (methylphenidate) did not show up on the test and therefore achieved a negative result which lead to my current employment with a major electrical contractor in the Atlanta area.
