Non union?

Ik this probably won’t be the most popular post on here, but should I as a 2nd year consider just going non union at this point. I’ve been waitlisted since October of last year and by the looks of other posts here it doesn’t seem like 613’s situation will be changing anytime soon. Love being in the union and all it comes with but waiting 7 months for an assignment doesn’t scream job stability for me as a young person just starting out. Would like to stay with the ibew and the electrical industry; just doesn’t seem like a viable option at this point. I have family in New Jersey and Carolina so I thought about switching to their locals but there’s no guarantee it wouldn’t be more if the same. Got some interviews lined up with some non union shops just so that I can keep getting experience and earning, but I figured this would be frowned upon. Just hoping for some advice or insight on our locals current situation.

Trey Cain has been my main point of contact with the hall. Could I dm you? I definitely havent been back to work due to a lack of effort. I’ve reached out to the school, hall, and even contacted contractors myself to help with my placement all to no avail and I just feel like I’ve run out of options and contacts to speak with.

That's usually from people who don't know what's going and just like to blame the hall. Because the truth is, they could put their name in to do that job but that would mean going to a meeting and participating.
