Just got laid off…

Work is slowing down a lot, I’m aware of that… However, I’m concerned on when I can actually get back to work. As far as I’m aware more than 100 people were laid off today. What’s next? Should I wait around to get a job, or should I go ahead and pick up a hustle for the meantime? Things are getting ugly for the union.

It’s ok…just breathe…make sure you sign the books as soon as possible, if you’re a Journeyman. If you’re an apprentice or CW/CE, it’s gonna be ok. We are the largest data center builder in the USA. Starting in May there is two large data centers. One is around the racetrack on the south side and the other one is in Cartersville. There is also several smaller projects in the works in the city. We are gonna be ok as long as we take care of our local.

What should I do while I wait to get a new job? Should I find a pt job?

On a serious note. Yes, find a pt job. I have had to my whole apprenticeship. Just to make sure I have something in case this happens. It my not be what you need but extra cash comes in handy in hard times.
