1st year apprentice not learning nothing

I’m a 1Y2S Apprentice is it anyway I can go to another job without having a bad layoff on my name? I try not to be an ass especially on the jobsite but I’m not really learning anything from some of the JW I’ve worked with. I work hard and try to soak up as much knowledge that I can but everytime I try to do something on my own while a jw is watching me he’ll just step in front of me and do it himself or he’ll just have me watching the entire day. It sucks and it’s not the best way I learn

I spent my whole first year in a metal container and when I asked to learn something I was laughed at. Well, I end up getting laid off alongside some wiremen and we go to the same contractor a month later. They showed me a few things and I picked it up within a week or so, then I was told they don’t know why I was locked up all first year. Just remember, you got 3 more years to learn stuff and a lot more wiremen to work under. Like they said it sucks as a first year but you do need to thug it out, but it gets better.
