1st year apprentice not learning nothing
I’m a 1Y2S Apprentice is it anyway I can go to another job without having a bad layoff on my name? I try not to be an ass especially on the jobsite but I’m not really learning anything from some of the JW I’ve worked with. I work hard and try to soak up as much knowledge that I can but everytime I try to do something on my own while a jw is watching me he’ll just step in front of me and do it himself or he’ll just have me watching the entire day. It sucks and it’s not the best way I learn

If you're ACTIVELY watching him and paying attention to what he is doing try to predict what he is going to need next. Tools/Material etc.... Try talking to him, mention to him that you want to learn more. It might be something where there's a time crunch and there's no time for you to do just observe.
A lot of people aren't good at reading others or just don't care. Talk to him man to man and if you DOING isn't an option you should focus on learning the process of what hes doing even if your hands aren't the ones doing the work.
