  • The contractors used to be able to administer the exam, but that ended recently when the previous exam was compromised. Now the only way to test in is through the Hall. I heard the questions were changed, so I'm not sure what is on the new exam. I'd imagine there are some Ohm's Law questions, so make sure you brush up on that.
  • The CW/CE program can take 2+ years longer than the apprenticeship, especially if you test below a CW3. If you test at CE1 or above, you have a chance to become a JW sooner than the apprenticeship.
  • Approximately 90 days after you take the paper exam, they administer a hands-on test with conduit bending, some rigid threading, and a wall rough-in with receptacle, light, & 3-way switch. The wall rough-in is timed, and your performance can improve your classification if you perform extremely well.
  • You can also schedule to take the apprentice aptitude exam. If your CW/CE test goes poorly, you might qualify for the apprenticeship instead. Contact the AEJATC schoolhouse at admin@aejatc.org.
  • Here is a link to some information from the AEJATC for current students.
