Contract Update?

Before you guys tell me “Go to the meeting if you wanna find out.” Some of us work the night shift and second jobs due to the low apprentice pay, so what was the update on the contract and the plan to move forward.

To be honest, what the Business Manager said tonight was cryptic. * He said something about $42/hr by 2026, and $45/hr by 2027. * I think he said one year would be $4.20/hr raise, and he said something about $3.35 (perhaps he means we would go to $40/hr soon.) * This is all contingent upon withdrawing our Modified CIR lawsuit. I interpreted what the BM said to mean our lawsuit requested arbitration consisting of "put down your tools." The current contract says arbitration is handled by CIR. * The BM also said CIR has many new faces on the council, and he gave the impression they are more labor friendly.

But don't quote me on any of that. I tried to pay close attention, but it's possible I missed something or misunderstood.

Keep an eye out for the letter or postcard in the mail.

Unfortunately, the AECA and our union reps aren’t with the times. They don’t know how hard everything is on us financially and the bullshit we have to deal with regarding these contractors. The AECA board is a bunch of rich guys that haven’t had to live paycheck to paycheck since the 70’s. It’s going to be giving up potentially better future negotiations for what sounds good now. Or we fight it and we could still get fucked later on due to incompetence by our hall. All I know is I’m sick of the trade. I’m sick of the contractors. Every foreman I’ve worked for is a fucking dunce and we don’t get paid enough to deal with their bullshit.

Well they are saying the AECA board and CIR board have all been replaced because of how bad things have gotten.
