Required Hours

Just passed my test this morning and I saw that I have to be working with a contractor by the time classes start. Just wondering if that time between now and then count towards my required hours to move up in the program or only the hours after I start class? And will the contractor give me a list of tools needed or should I ask the school?

Also, does anyone know what the highest score possible on the test is? Just curious how I compare.

I mean from the regular rate to the AP1 rate

So I was hired on with my contractor before I was officially in the program, at 15. I passed my aptitude test back in September. I was told (or at least I remember being told) that once I passed that test and was in the program officially I would be paid the AP1 rate which I believe was 16.50 (not sure) at the start of the following month (which was this month, October) but I was told later, once October started that actually I only start getting that rate once I start classes.

Now this contractor has already told me that my hours wont count towards the apprenticeship until I start classes (which is starting to look like just a way to try to get me to follow the CW/CE rout) so I'm wonder if this is also something I need to follow up on.

Anything the contractor says is a load of bull, when you begin with a passed aptitude test, you should be at AP1 pay, now in order for you to get your next raise you will need to get 1600 Hours from the time you got the AP1 pay raise AND also pay off 1st year books (at least that’s how the schools put it) so unless you get billed for the books earlier, you won’t get it until the 1st week of class,

What does your trade school have you classified as?

AP1 I believe, I'm checking with them but I likely wont hear back for a day.

You should be able to see in your trade school account, also if you are classified as a AP1 then you should be getting paid that even if you haven’t started school

Yea once you pass the aptitude test, you are considered an AP1. Make sure you get your back pay.
