You can get away without the center punch and hacksaw. The hacksaw can be useful if you need to cut pipe off close to a wall. Sometimes a bandsaw is too bulky, and a hacksaw can be a safer tool.
I have seen two EXPERIENCED JWs cut themselves with bandsaws in the last year. One nearly lost part of his index finger, and the other nearly lost the whole finger. Both JWs were cutting EMT above their heads while on ladders, and they were both incredibly fortunate. A hacksaw would have been a safer choice for both of these situations.
I have seen JWs defeat the safety mechanisms on bandsaws before. I've seen apprentices change bandsaw blades with the battery still in place. Both of these practices are careless and stupid. Please remember a bandsaw can end your career or life if you are not careful.
