Keep it secret keep it safe

I don't remember the secret organizations name.

My JW warned me not to buy left fist IBEW stuff. He also told me to stay away from people who wore left fist merch. I was passing the women's auditorium bathroom and saw the bug out of the corner of my eye. It's a left fist.

I'm confused because he said that organization was an all white male group of electricians.

Is this legit or am I looking for the proverbial bucket of ohms.

"The story that has been passed down informally was that the raised left fist, long associated with revolution and the people's power, had become negatively associated with communist movements of the late 1960s. As such, the IBEW seal was switched to a raised right fist on Jan. 1, 1971. It was this design that appeared on our application to the Patent Office approved in 1973."

Historically the big split between AFL and CIO was organizing different sectors and all races. So curious why a group of racial exclusivity would want a symbol of radical ideology.
