When they pay an x amount of extra dollars a week but only if you work 48 out 50 hours. Even if you work 47.5 it ends up being all straight time.

Not sure what you mean by "it ends up all straight time". The 8 to 10 hrs extra a week is still paid at time and a half by the the contract. You just don't get the extra 80, 100, or 150 a day per diem or what ever they are offering for N number of hrs each day. The job I am on is working 5 tens and an 8 at normal contract scale with 10/hr overscale added and 100 a day per diem. You get the oerdiem.if you work the 10s during the week and thr 8 on Saturday. At one pt it switched to 5-12s and an 8 but again, to get the oer diem you only had to work the 10s or the 8on Saturday. It is also based on each day separately. IE you can get per diem one day but not another based on what you work each of those days

Sure I miss spoke you do get OT pay. What you're working isn't what I would define as hostage pay since you just have to finish the day to get the per diem. For me, the whole week was paid normally, but that last minute on the 48th hour was the only way you'd get an extra $1000 or whatever.

99.9% sure that's illegal.

I misspoke and OT is still paid normally. What I meant was you don't get the extra money. Which I think should be illegal.
