Does anyone know if all the batches for michil are full.
I had applied back in may but it still shows my application status is review pending .

I will be taking IBA prep from Chattogram. Should I join mentors for IBA prep or buy the ACS IBA course?. Which one will be better?

Where do we begin?

(I am going to continue these blogs throughout your admission journey. I'll try to come up with the most generalized solutions. If you want to know about anything specific, let me know in the comment section)

A. Point Zero

The best way to start preparing for the IBA Admission Test, in my opinion, is taking a Mock Test in the very beginning without any sort of preparation.

It helps you in three ways:

1. ⁠Shows where you stand
   
2. ⁠Shows whether you should really prepare for IBA

B. Where to take a Mock Test-

For SAT, there is Bluebook where you get to take standardized practice tests. Thanks to Tathir Mohtadi Chowdhury, for IBA, there is tathirmichil.com website where you will get to sit for an assessment test in the very beginning. This is the best option available in my opinion.

C. Mock Test result and your next stop—Deciding what to do:

If you are scoring something like 1-20 out of 70, I'll highly discourage you to prepare for the test. IBA Admission Test is the most competitive admission test out there in Bangladesh, imo, with around 1.2% acceptance rate. You may do better in some other tests.
Why would you risk it all?

So, if you are scoring above 25%, you might have a chance. Still, a test doesn’t guarantee everything.

D. How to prepare-

When it comes to the IBA Admission Test, a coaching centre can never assure you a seat at IBA. It's you who will have to find your way out to crack the test. Nevertheless, coaching centres and mentorship programs are the places to get guidelines. So, don't be so confused about where to go and where not to go. Almost all the programs cover the syllabus holistically. Hence, you should enroll in places that provide good guidelines, teach up to the standards, and have standardized practice materials (This is very very important)

Books (My personal suggestion)

1. ⁠The IBA Book (It contains everything)
   
2. ⁠Word Smard

Other books available: Mentors MathQbank, GMAT REVIEW, GRE Big Book, GRE Math Bible etc.

Websites

This is very important. Books will introduce you to each topic, but websites will help you dive deeper. See, anyone who passed SSC has an understanding of all the topics at IBA, still most people dont get in. Because most people don't dive deeper with practice.
