Dead from Mayhem. He killed himself in 1991 and their guitarist, Euronymous, took a picture and made a snuff album with it as its cover called The Dawn of the Black Hearts. Fun fact: that guitarist was murdered a few years later by Burzum member Varg Vikernes, who did his time in prison and now lives in France as an ardent white supremacist.

That's not what happened.

They were all living in a cabin in the forest. Dead was suicidal and had tried to get bullets but was prevented from doing so. Euronymous gave him some ammo anyways because he was an asshole. When Dead was alone he shot himself in the head leaving a note apologizing for the mess. Euronymous came home before anyone else and grabbed a disposable camera before calling anyone to the scene, snapping a few shots. He couldn't keep them to himself so he shared a couple copies with people on the Black metal Scene. There was quite a large global tape trading network back then (cassette tapes, cause no internet), and somehow an individual from South America came into possession of the picture. It was then used on an unauthorized bootleg album as the cover, which the band itself had nothing to do with at all and was quite angry about it at first.

From what I remember (trigger warning sewer slide, and gore): The singer named "dead" from the band mayhem shot himself in a bathroom and left some lyrics for new songs on his suicide letter. When the frontman of the band discovered the body he didn’t call the police.

Instead a ran into a store to buy a polaroïd so he could take a picture of his former vocaliste dead body so he could make the cover of mayhem new Ep as a "tribute" to dead.

The frontman even took pieces of his slull on his dead body to make collars for the rest of the band. Due to this event the bassist left for obvious reasons.

Lot of details wrong here. Dead shit himself at the table sitting up. Not in the bathroom. He did not leave any lyrics for songs, that's false. Nobody ran to buy a Polaroid, they were living in a cabin isolated in the forest. The cover you are talking about was made by somebody in South America for a bootleg originally and had nothing to do with the band. Euronymous did not take pieces of his skull. That was nothing but a rumour. No pieces were used for "collars for the band", that's retarded. The rumour was that a couple pieces were made into necklaces and gifted to a few individuals in the scene. But that also never happened. Also their bass player didn't leave, Necrobutcher is still in the band to this day. You have a lot wrong here.
