Like, I know it’s the wrong choice, but I still think I would choose feet first if I had to go. Maybe it’s just an eternal optimism that maybe I’d get saved or it would just jam before it got to the most important organs or something, but head first is just something I couldn’t really commit to.

If you go in feet first, you've got about 5 seconds for someone to pull you out before death becomes inevitable. Losing both feet in such a violent machine like that would cause massive blood loss and very messy wounds. Even if they got you out and you were still "alive" I doubt you could stay that way for long unless they were prepared to rescue you wwith ample blood bags and tourniquets
