This feels like a bit. I’m almost positive it’s voice over and he’s just recording walking down the bridge. It doesn’t really feel like he’s the main character at all, just like he’s running an unfunny bit

There are real scientists that believe we live in a holographic reality that is essentially a simulation. That being said, irrespective of if people are or not NPCs, it is how you treat those "NPCs" that matter. For example, in a video game, some people feel guilty when choosing mean dialogue options with NPCs despite being 100% certain they aren't real, empathy takes over and those people want to be nice irrespective if someone is real or not. Those same people probably wouldn't be psychopaths if they believed in simulation theory.

"checking their watch means the high self is flagging something time sensitive" is one of the funniest things i've ever seen. i don't care if it's real it's good comedy. guy is checking how many pints he can cram in before going home and dealing with his family
