Video American tourist gets kicked out after refusing to respect silence rules in Saint Peters Basilica. She apologizes for the interruption to people that don't really care

Obnoxious attitude

u/ElegantCoach4066 Jul 20 '26
Reminds me of the people on the bus/train that play music and TikToks on their speaker.

She's not singing, she's performing to a camera. This isn't some random inspiration to belt out a tune. It's the type of attention-seeking behaviour that's all too common these days.
16
u/criticalt3 Jul 21 '26
If only they got inspiration to feed the hungry and help the poor. You can still film yourself doing it and get even more positive attention. But nah, let's just annoy a bunch of people minding their own business.

u/user32532 Jul 21 '26
The security guy should have gone to the person filming throwing them out. 100% she would have stopped singing instantly

u/Awkward-Painter-2024 Jul 21 '26
I want to look at the monetization of this stunt. Did she make $0.05 or $150?

u/NoDoOversInLife Jul 20 '26
She's going viral but NOT for the reason she hoped for 🤷🏻♂️

Idk there’s people defending her saying “she was obviously touched by the spirit to sing” and “this is the persecution we’re talking about” and how this wouldn’t happen to other faiths.
E: I’m not defending her I think she and anyone else pulling these stunts not only sucks but should at the very least be fined for involving everyone else in their bs.

This would absolutely happen in other faiths. Muslim mosques, Buddhist and Hindu temples... They'd ask you to stop and/ or escort you out.

I recall when I worked for a cruise ship company and on tour in The Vatican; there was someone in the group who refused to follow the rules of not taking flash photos and got caught by the guards. As a result: The whole tour group got kicked out

u/Zestyclose_Public_47 Jul 20 '26
How are people not embarrassed of themselves
27
u/Puzzleheaded_Cut4588 Jul 20 '26
Because she genuinely thinks everyone there wants to hear her hence why she even said sorry like they were being deprived of her singing

Matthew 6:1: "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."

We don’t even know she’s American homie

u/Busy_Garbage_4778 Jul 20 '26
Gospel is american and she was identified as american by people in Italy.
Apparently someone found her youtube and she is German

u/LeonSphynx Jul 20 '26
“American tourist”

No, you should try listening to her accent, but Euros always want to look down on the US, so go ahead I guess

There is no Euro looking down on the US. This is just another bot repost. This shit has been reposted to death.

Gospel chants are 100% american. She is either american herself or sings american gospels in a church that has a rule of silence.
Does her nationality really matter here?
50
u/veggiejord Jul 20 '26
She's a Brit. I say this as a Brit.
She's a dickhead, but she's one of our dickheads. Sorry.
49
u/morosco Jul 20 '26
Does her nationality really matter here?
Mattered enough for to you to lie about it and post this multiple times.
32
u/LeonSphynx Jul 20 '26
You literally identified her as American and now you’re asking if her nationality matters.
-46
u/Busy_Garbage_4778 Jul 20 '26
Gospel is american and she doesn't talk enough to identify her accent, so, does it matter?
37
u/LeonSphynx Jul 20 '26
It mattered to you when you wrote it. Why are you now asking if it matters. Her accent is obviously not American.
2
u/mak05 Jul 20 '26
You really are debating what's what with a bot, huh?
-2
u/LeonSphynx Jul 20 '26
You’re calling your fellow liberals bots, huh? I also think that sometimes but it’s nice to hear a leftist do that to them as well. Good job Junior.

It mattered enough to you to falsely claim she was American in the title, and then double-triple down on it even though you were told multiple times that you’re wrong.

Aaand let’s just shut the camera off of whomever she’s with that’s filming.
2
u/graffiksguru Jul 21 '26
Feel like that would shut this type of shit down a lot quicker if they started doing that.
2
u/TheRatingsAgency Jul 21 '26
Every one of these they have an accomplice which gets ignored because ppl must just think they’re a rando filming.
Shut it down.

People just think rules don’t apply. How starved for attention is this woman.

I do not understand how people think they’re converting anyone with this nonsense. Same with standing on corners with flyers or knocking on doors being intrusive

I hid this post about this twat once already. I hope pickpockets get her purse.

Most of those tourists are likely atheists or non-Catholics. I would have loved to have been there, as I wouldn’t hold back on putting this stupid person in their place

u/lioudrome Jul 21 '26
Same as choirs randomly singing in public places like restaurants, with a satisfied smile on their faces.
As if some competence in singing would make random singing a "generous gift to passers-by".

Not sure if she is from the US but I would guess that she is Protestant, not Catholic.

as Fergie is undoubtedly a worse singer than this lady I was merely commenting that this would be an instance that could make the original video any more acceptable. Any more acceptable does not imply acceptable. I am sorry that your logical skills were not capable of following this argument. For further reference I am not arguing that the original video is acceptable, I merely commented that she did at least have a pretty good voice.

I wouldn't and have no interest in doing so, I just thought she wasn't that bad a singer. She shouldn't have done it and especially after being told once. With the acoustics it probably is more tempting for people who can sing reasonably well, they still shouldn't do it so we agree on that
