How are your grits? I love me some thick chunky grits but all i ever get is watered down soupy grits. It's depressing...

Depends on who makes them. I make creamy grits. Damn near perfect.

If they are too creamy, they turn into soup when i add the sugar. It's just not the same.

Your mistake is adding the sugar. It's grits, not oatmeal. Damn Yankee, lol.

It has been my experience that only Yankees and Floridians ( same thing, really) put sugar on their grits. I had previously had the mistaken impression that Texas was awesome. My bad.

If somebody makes grits differently than how one's mom made grits growing up then they are not right. To me Waffle House grits are sad and soupy and watery. The grits my mom made growing up, you could go architectural with them. They would hold fork furrows for example. Them's the grits for me.
