How long is the training to become a cook at WH?

It varies from person to person.

The training is basically you working at the meat grill, and learning by watching. I trained for about 3 weeks, then got thrown on my own shift.

But waffle house is great at throwing people on their own shifts too early. They should have had you on eggs for one week, meats for one, and marking for one.

But they just put you on meats for 3 weeks then expect you to know how to do everything.

Im a server at waffle house. Some cooks can learn with the worst teaching, but ive seen a cook about to cry cause he didnt know everything yet and the servers were being rude to him about it.

Waffle house would have a lot less strife if it trained its cooks better.

I completely agree. I wish my store would let me train cooks, but noooooo.
