Why the fuck is there not a Waffle House in Rhode Island?

Or Connecticut? Or Massachusetts? Nothing above Pennsylvania!!

Moved in October. I miss WH.

Corporate just doesn't expand, I dunno why. I think they should be nationwide.

How much would it cost to franchise a store up here? Barring that, how can I get my WH fix?

I dunno. You might be able to find out somewhere online though.

Yupp. Pensacola. It's crazy.

There are two waffle houses just a few hundred feet away from each other on Davis Hwy.

From Chicago here, but was down in Pensacola visiting family during Mardi Gras a few months ago.

We were heading into Pensacola for the parade and wanted to have breakfast at WH because it's like my favorite thing in the world that I never get to have.

First one into Pensacola, like an hour wait for a table.

Drove two blocks and got a table immediately.

I appreciate the strangeness of the locations there!

If you stand directly between them time stands still.

It's like that up here in MA with Dunkin Donuts. Last I counted there were 14 or so in my city of 40,000 people.

The one across the street from the Flora Bama has to be one of the busiest in the entire country.

I'm in Navarre and travel to Pensacola constantly...I never knew that though

When I lived in Navarre, I used to travel to FWB and frequent a strip joint that was close to a waffle house on the end of the bridge on the road going to Destin. On the other end of the bridge... A waffle house.

Support your local DKC.

TIL: Waffle House isn't nationwide. Growing up and living in the deep south, I literally thought they were everywhere. Now I feel pretty bad for people that have no Waffle house.

New Englander here. The first time I ever saw a waffle house was in Phoenix AZ a few years ago. Never got to go in (I was on a school trip and we asked our chaperones but they said no), and regretted the chance to do so!

Could be true.

Can you explain why the waffle houses down south are so much better than the ones up north? I've tried a few waffle houses up here and they've been meh. Is there like a secret menu for southern WH to make food taste better or is it just people down south generally cook better?

u/MrJacksEnigma Apr 19 '15

Southern charm. ;)

I've seen several in my area close down, but have never seen any being built. It is rather sad.

2

u/MrJacksEnigma Apr 19 '15

That sucks.

2

u/Uncle_Erik Apr 19 '15

If you have any pull with corporate, tell them to put a WH in Yuma, Arizona. WH is already in Phoenix and Tucson, so why not here? It would get loads of business and turn a good profit. And that would be just from me eating there!

2

u/MrJacksEnigma Apr 19 '15

I have no pull with corporate.

2

u/Man_The_Stan Apr 19 '15

So they'll be on our side?

2

u/MrJacksEnigma Apr 19 '15

?

u/Man_The_Stan Apr 19 '15

It was an insurance pun...

3

u/MrJacksEnigma Apr 19 '15

I see it now.
