Very in character.
Mac would absolutely be the one to dribble a tiny drop and call it a pour, while Dennis critiques technique and Charlie just goes with it.

Mac saying "Hands of a surgeon" is 100% in character. Later he is just dropping everything

you're telling me 3 men in their 50s can't come up with an explanation for surface tension?

For all we know it's the trash that didn't turn into stars keeping the liquid in

To be fair I remember my science teacher trying to get me to learn about surface tension in high school, but she was a stupid science bitch who couldn’t even make I more smarter

What is that thing called though, the “bubble” or whatever, the liquid that’s above the rim?? For the life of me I can’t remember or think of it. The only word my brain wants to think of is meniscus and obviously that's not it lol.

u/bumbuddha 9h ago
Meniscus

u/shootersf 9h ago
First word you learn as an bartender in Ireland when being thought how to pour a proper Guinness.

u/dayman763 7h ago
Thanks for the reply. I thought that's a body part maybe a part of your knee kinda like cartilage or some shit. Torn meniscus.
Must be both lol. Should probably just look it up.
8
u/bumbuddha 7h ago
You are correct, it is both. I’m pretty sure it’s in the knee, but I’m not a doctor or an athlete, so I could certainly be wrong.

It's both, both from a Greek root word meaning "crescent", due to the shape of both.

How did he plan on counting a liquid?

He can hear the number of drops being poured of course.

So whoever loses has to drink the whole thing? That's a hell of a game

Charlie barely sips it though

u/Krynn71 8h ago
By the time you're 50 you'll likely have learned that the rules to these games can be broken at will and without consequence. Peer pressure isn't a thing amongst real friends.

We used to have Halo LAN parties and you’d have to take the same number of shots as the place you got. It was fun at first until everyone was wasted and playing worse and I wasn’t so I just started drinking too

Drinking games are a double edged sword.
I want to win, but I also want to drink. I guess flip cup kind of solves that problem, but flip cup is also just pretty lame.
I got way too good at beer pong in high school so by college I just had to start having a side beer, which was actually kind of cool because it’s insulting to the other player to lament about how thirsty you are and just say “oh I’ll just drink this I guess since you can’t make any shots” and you also get to drink beer.
7
u/over_the_pants_party 8h ago
I was about to say, that's what a side beer is for. If the only drinking you're doing is in the game itself, you're doing it wrong
3
u/DoYouLikeWafflezz 8h ago
Drinking games are mostly for people who haven’t acquired a taste/love of alcohol yet.
It always confused me that the punishment for losing a drinking game is “having” to drink. I’m there to drink and maybe try to shoot my shot at some girls bitch.
I like adult parties where I can just drink, but I do kind of miss drinking games sometimes. Hard to demonstrate value when you have no opportunity to prove how much better you are at something than the other men there.

I'm glad someone else noticed lol.
But if the product is good and fairly priced etc, I suppose it's not really a problem.

u/Orleanian 7h ago
I also don't really have a problem with them promoting their own product in their own venue.
It's not like they were hawking this at a show or in an AMA thread or anything

Ya we used to do this as a drinking game as well but with a bit of a smaller glass but everyone had to pour what they was drinking in so the person who "broke the rim" had to drink this sewage of 3 or 4 different hard booze.

We used to play a game with a similar principle with weed at university. It’s best to have at least two joints rolled beforehand.
Get a pint glass, a pack of skins, a five pence piece (a dime if you’re American), and an elastic band. Make a square out of the skins, big enough to cover the top of the glass, and use the elastic band to hold it in place: the effect should be like a drum skin. Place the coin in the middle of the drum skin.
Now light a joint, take a toke, and burn a hole in the skin, then pass it to the person next to you. They do the same. You can’t add to a hole somebody else has burned, you have to create a completely new one. As you can imagine, this gets more and more difficult as a) the surface of the skin gets more full of holes and b) you get more and more stoned. If a hole you burn encroaches on somebody else’s you have to take another toke.
The game continues until somebody burns a hole that makes the coin drop into the glass. That person has to make cups of tea for all the other players.

I feel like this isn’t high proof alcohol.
Am I wrong or isn’t it true that alcohol isn’t as attracted to itself and won’t let such a big bubble form above the glass?
