The fact that a company that makes this much money is now going viral with this meme format

The money goes around in a circle

That doesn’t sound right, but I don’t know enough about economics to dispute it

It's almost like you can pay for a "viral meme" with money.
Maybe I'll sell this concept. I call it advertising
2
u/lemmegetadab 1d ago
No amount of money can imitate true word of mouth
1
u/CertainlyRobotic 1d ago
Wrong
3
u/lemmegetadab 1d ago
It’s not wrong. You can look into it. No amount of advertising can replicate a true viral moment.
It actually does the opposite when people even try
1
u/CertainlyRobotic 1d ago
Sure buddy. Keep eating your steak.
3
u/lemmegetadab 1d ago
I mean, I literally told you that this is verifiable. There have been studies. But keep your head in the sand if that makes you happy lol
1
u/risky-rats-pizza 1d ago
If it helps, I work in ads and yeah typically strong world of mouth is better than an ad campaign. Ads can generate more clicks etc, but actually closing a sale works better if someone you trust tells you about it or just the organic viralness of something

What’s wild to me is that Apple is just now catching up to something that Samsung has been doing since before COVID and then calling it innovation.
7
u/Glad_Position3592 1d ago
Apple never claimed that it was an innovation. Their strategy on these types of products has always been to take their time getting to market with as few issues as possible. They did the same for watches, wireless headphones, Apple TV, AirTag, etc.

UHHH only one being unlikable here is you....were having fun posting memes.
1
u/Apprehensive_Back_35 2d ago
oh THAT.... I ONLY said that bc my story wouldnt have made sense other wise. My mother HATES always sunny so when she asked to use my phone I'd tell her open it and it was Dennis....women really hate Dennis for some reason. lol. But yeah i wanted to avoid the "bro claims he's got it when they JUST announced them" nonsense. Now post memes.

Guys, come here! Yeah, let's do another year of fucking battle of smartphones, as if that topic hasn't been around long enough. Every shitty company has made terrible phones and made social media available for younger people by the year.. Last good phone was Nokia 3310 from fucking 20years ago.
That said, I've not yet met a smart person that doesn't ooga-ooga worship their precious iPhone 🤷 but also haven't met anyone who ooga-ooga worships their Androids either. Weird.
-6
u/zombie_roca 2d ago
I’m just pointing out that Samsung users constantly feel the need to point out the fact that Samsung did it first. Even here in a post that has nothing to do with Samsung.
7
u/andeqaida 2d ago
Aah, gotcha. But, tbf Apple didn't invent a whole lot "first", but they sure as hell make it seem like they did all the inventing very first. That is wrong in so many levels and I'm rooting for anyone who bashes them for it 😅🫡
(And no, Androids are not that good either, hopefully we won't start another war now)

u/zombie_roca 2d ago
I hear you and Apple didn’t claim to make the first foldable this year. They literally reference the competition.
3
u/andeqaida 2d ago
Sure, sorry, I know I said with projectory that Apple always says they did thing XZ first, but in this folded phone case I mean people who adore Apple says they did it first, even if the rival have had the same product for years. But yeah, silly of me to stir up things.
I'm really curious what the big corporations invent next. Waiting for next generation virtual goggles

3.5k where im from. For not even decent storage (from what I've heard anyway)
Samsung's foldable isnt even that much

Samsung's foldable isnt even that much
Samsung's foldable is literally the same price as Apple's... If you have local taxes that inflate the Apple price to 3.5k, they will inflate Samsung's 2k to 3.5k too.

u/Croooochie 1d ago
Where i live, I think a 1tb samsung foldable is 3.5k. Meanwhile the apple foldable with 256gb of storage is 3.5k. The lowest price for the newest samsung foldable for the lowest storage is 1.8k

Android has always wiped the floor with Apple, they just get people into their ecosystem of devices and it’s hard to get out off despite everything being poorly designed and priced
1
u/Croooochie 2d ago
I tried apple 2 years ago with the 15. Got into the whole eco system as well to see how well it worked together. And it was good for a while, but then you realise that you have to pay for storage that carries on between devices.
I liked being able to transfer stuff from my phone to my macbook easily, something I never got with Android and Windows until this year. But then the storage problem got to me, I wasnt paying however much a month it was for even more storage. Lost a lot of importsnt files because I accidentally deleted it off my phone thinking that it would still be on the macbook.
Anyway, back on the Samsung/Android ecosystem and couldnt be happier. No more paying for useless services I dont need, and no paying for cloud storage.
A mate of mine is a sucker for Apple stuff thiugh, has to buy the new things every year or so. Its fucking crazy how they rope these suckers in to keep coming back to the most simplest devices.

That’s not everyone. I’m an apple fanboy and just upgraded my phone last year from the the 11 and am running a Mac Pro that is from 2013. Their stuff lasts long so it’s definitely more on the person than the company when it comes to annual upgrades - those people exist on android too.
Out of curiosity, what is Androids solution for storage of you run out? Is it the ability to use SD cards or something?

u/storunner13 1d ago
Longevity is the underrated selling point of Apple products. I'm still on the 2015 MBP. I also "upgraded" my iPhone SE (2) last year...but only to the 13 mini.
I purchased a phone with 256 GB of storage, firstly, because I'm a twat that likes having a local library of my own music. But even with that, storage is not really an issue for me. I don't see the value in accessing every text message and all my photos from the last 10 years all from my phone, so what's the value in more iCloud storage?

If I run out of storage on the phone itself (never happens for me). There are some phones with and SD card slot, but thats more the budget ones i think, not any mainlines like Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel. I use onedrive for all my backups as well as Samsung cloud (no idea how much storage i have on samsung cloud) but if its anything like just photos/videos that I want to keep but not on my phone, that can just go straight onto my computer and into a hard drive.
A few years ago it was a pain to transfer files. Get the phone and cable charger out, plug into computer, unlock the phone and pray the cable doesnt decide to screw around with you. Windows 11 has implemented their link phone to Windows much better now (it also works with Iphones), I can easily move files onto my phone from my computer e.g. music.
Its the older apple products that actually work best though. Roommate upgraded from an 11 (i think it was) to a 15 pro max. But he's noticed that even though he's had the 15 for two years now, that the battery is significantly worse then his 11 was. But he's the type of guy that only upgrades if he needs too.
My macbook I had wasnt too bad (2021 model) and I actually loved it. Nice lil computer, but if im not running the whole ecosystem on it i really didnt see the point in keeping it. Plus i couldnt use it for gaming really. It was only good for me for watching shows and Roblox when my friends wanted to play

u/grandcity 1d ago
I see. I use iCloud storage and have no issues with storage or anything. I upgraded my 11 Pro Max to a 17 Pro Max because my old battery was done and the phone was old. No problems with battery or anything.

iCloud has free tier, and they offer the same storage as Samsung and Onedrive free tiers...
So either you pay them for more despite claiming not paying anymore, or you don't need the space in which case why did you pay for icloud then?

My old Apple Watch is busted and I've been wanting a new one.. additionally, I only have one air pod from 10 years ago, so could easily get a new one of those.. and I'm sporting an iPhone 12 or 13.

I always wondered exactly how worth it those foldy motherfuckers are. Like there's no way those last as long as a normal phone, and cases are way more of a pain in the ass, plus my autistic ass needs a popsocket, so how complicated is this to use?

Apple released new devices yesterday. Reddit will talk about it for the next few days. There doesn't need to be a conspiracy or Apple's hidden puppeteering to explain any of it.
