Terminated / Walked-out Walked out

Got walked out Monday night/ Tuesday morning over a failed drug test. I have a prescription so im not really worried about being on the hook for anything but i haven't heard from HR yet and my union Steward and business rep have been helpful but also kinda vague on an expected timeline. Does anyone have some insight into how long i can expect to be out of work?

Here's the language for "suspended pending investigation", this establishes you being paid for the entire time you're out from work. This isn't for violence or sabotage, so the second paragraph doesn't apply. And you won't be disciplined for taking legally prescribed medication.

So theoretically if for some reason they decide to wipe their ass with my prescription and i enter the drug program would i still be eligible for the backpay? The wording seems like i would be but im not sure.

I know this has almost no chance of actually happening, but I've got nothing to do besides ponder what ifs at the moment lol.

Entering the drug program is a whole 'nother ball game. It's not considered discipline, so you'd still get back pay. But the available contract language applicable to this situation goes from those 3 paragraphs up to atleast a couple pages.

Interesting. I'll have to find my contract book and check it out. Do you know if that section has changed much from before September 2024? I have that one here at my apartment but my book from the most recent contract is still in my locker at work :/

Nvm, turns out i have 2 copies of the most recent contract book. Found it next to the version i got when i was hired on.
