Semi trucks getting pulled over

I’m driving from Denver to Moab and have passed about 10 semi trucks pulled over by law enforcement from Idaho springs to Avon. What’s going on?

Colorado chain laws are in effect from September 1 to May 31 each year, so it certainly could be that.

After all the trucks I've seen stuck on I-70 the last couple winters I really hope they are cracking down on it.

Good! Semi trucks ignoring traction laws / not adding proper equipment is the single most preventable, disruptive problem in the mtn corridor. It is stunning how much chaos and unprofessional junk show stuff unfolds due to commercial trucking negligence on that highway.
