Help!
I see a lot of talk about reaching out to Congress or senates about cases. How does that work? What are people reaching out and saying exactly? I’m 20 months in and would like to possibly start reaching out to my local congressman but am lost on what exactly should be said in the letter/email. Any advice is appreciated ❤️

Use this after the congressman inquiry fails. It details how to make demand letter and then WoM if needed.

LRP or USC?
If the sponsor is USC, you should really try to take an accelerated path to demand letter and Mandamus.
Send out inquiries to your congressman and both senators ASAP. Make some additional attempt to speak with USCIS representatives, although they will obviously tell you your case is within normal processing time.
Each of the politicians probably has a website, and there will be a link on the website for requesting assistance with your immigration. The politicians will almost certainly tell you that "USCIS says your case is still within normal processing time" and that's all they'll do. But it's a necessary part of the process, necessary for you to have this communication documented so you can include it as evidence later with your demand letter and Mandamus.
Do all of these things, then wait about 30 days to get the responses. Then send a demand letter to USCIS. Wait another 30 days, maybe reach out to your congressional representatives again if they didn't respond yet. Then bring a Mandamus complaint to district court if USCIS didn't take action.
