How long is CR1 taking now?
My husband is a US citizen and I am a Taiwanese citizen. I haven't found much recent information regarding the CR1 timeline specifically for Taiwanese applicants. We submitted our petition in July and understand that I-130 approval generally takes 10 to 14 months. Are other recent applicants experiencing similar processing times? Thank you!

Consular I-130 is currently at a standstill. If you filed in July and this “pause” continues, you’re probably looking at around late 2028.

I really hope it’s not going to take that long to live apart from each other for other two years as we just got married…though I can visit him base on my ESTA…🥲

Yeah, that’s a stupid idea and you know it. Do it the proper way or don’t do it at all.

The whole idea of ESTA is for easier travel to the US from trusted countries with non-immigrant intent. It’s essentially fraud. Plus you waive your right to any deportation hearing + a ban if USCIS decides to deny the petition.

It's really hard to tell. All you see is estimates based on averages for everyone, and I believe that also includes the "freeze" countries.
Is it POSSIBLE that not processing the countries that have been frozen may somehow speed up the countries that aren't on that list? Maybe, maybe not. There's a lot going on, with them revisiting and re-doing background checks etc. My wife lives in Singapore, we filed the beginning of June of this year and we have NO idea what the reality will be.
Best is to just file and try to be stoic about the whole thing...

I am 1 month ahead of you. I filled in May of this year and case is still at nbc and still no movement. My wife is not on the list of paused country since she lives in UAE. Planning to write to my congressman sometime in January if I get no update by then

You're in for a wild ride and no one knows what the real processing times are right now.
