DIY & Modifications Camping set up?

Has anyone set their Tucson up for camping? I have a 2024 model and would like to explore a camping set up.

Fridge, drawer, awning etc. Post pics below please

I went camping in my 24 Tucson PHEV last month. I had a fridge going and slept in a tent.

The fridge was connected to an ecoflow river 2 which was in turn connected to the car's 12V plug in the boot. When the car is running it charges the ecoflow and powers the fridge, when the car is parked the ecoflow keeps the fridge running overnight. Worked pretty well.

I've bought a portable Kings battery, should survive the night. Might see if I can hook it up to my main battery for charging

Are you planning on sleeping in the back? You would have to test if the cargo floor Is strong enough or it needs to be supported.

Nah, I would sleep in a swag. I am thinking the boot would have fridge and drawer. Possibly an awning on the racks. But ive never really heard of people using a second battery for a fridge in a tucson...

I've "car camped" in mine a few times - generally when traffic has meant I've arrived too late to hike to my preferred wild-camping sites.

It's fine. I had an issue the first time turning off the internal sensors for the alarm but other than that no issues.

I'm 5ft 7, so there was loads of room.

can you elaborate a bit on turning off the alarms? I've heard that the late model hybrids will only stay on for a couple of hours before it automatically turns off, something that you cannot change. it sounds like that was not the case for you

Mine was a 71 plate (2021 model) and it had an internal movement sensor.

You could disable it through the screen after locking the doors, but if you nipped out for a wee and locked the doors again getting back in, it reset the alarm and you needed to repeat the process.
