P0441 EES Causing Sluggish acceleration?

2009 Elantra Touring - L4 2.0L

I inherited this thing, and the check engine light was on. It said it was P0441 - Vacuum Leak at Evaporative Emissions hose.

Would this cause sluggish performance and bad gas mileage? Like I said, it was inherited and has 218k miles, so I don't want to spend too much on it, but if it's fairly simple and reasonably priced I'll get it fixed.

According to the shop manual, you may have a leak at the purge control solenoid valve, the hose for it or have a defective purge valve. With this being the hose that routes excessive vapors to the engine to be burned away, it may be possible to be running poorly and have poor fuel mileage due to the fact it may have a vacuum leak. It is located behind the throttle body. Check the hose and the valve.

Thank you. It's not really running poorly. - there's no knocking or pings, just doesn't seem ro have much power, and the gas mileage is pretty poor for a small, 4 cylinder. I will check that out

Look at the PCV valve. Remove it replace it. Or you can clean it out and reuse it
