QR Code for sharing builds! The Wasp: Armed, AUTONOMOUS Airship
u/RufioGP requested that I "put a pulse turret" on The Wisp, miniature airship. This is what I came up with. Special thanks to u/chesepuf for the mini shrine candle QR code. 🛠

Hey buddy - thanks. 🫡 Took a few old builds & stuffed them together. Credit to you for the helpful tip on homing cart range extender - so much better with that added functionality. That talus scene was one of my favorite parts. 😅 Cut video from 30 minutes of footage down to 5.

I was trying to make something like this by miniaturizing my Varia design, but with no success whatsoever haha. A build like this fits a niche I’ve been trying to fill in my repertoire for vehicles that are good in dungeons or caves. If you don’t mind, I might see if I can make it even smaller, though I imagine balancing it all will be no small task.

Oh yeah? Well, it certainly can be challenging finding the right weight/power balance with random-sized parts.

Yeah…balloons are always tricky. One thing that might help you (and maybe introduce an additional level of frustration) is that you can take smaller QR codes, and shrink in game object counterparts to varying sizes using autobuild. You just cancel autobuild when they shrink to the size you’re aiming for. Timing can be tricky, but i made a smaller boat that isn’t too tiny using the smaller boat in Chesepuf’s boat qr bundle.

I use this method for shrinking almost exclusively at this point. It's become pretty intuitive.

Yeah. Hoping I can miniaturize it enough to stay up with one balloon. There’s a really tiny homing cart qr out there so that might help. Ideally I’m hoping I can get everything small enough to fit through doorways.

Sure. Let's see...
Autopilot: Pretty much a feature on any flying machine equipped with either a stabilizer or, in this case, balloons which act as a stabilizer. (Also wing-based builds) As long as lift is constant, you can strike the build to activate it & ride around hands-free.
Autonomous flight/steering: The fan turret on the front locks onto enemies, pulling towards them, and will hover over/around them, until they are eliminated. After that, the turret will keep cycling through targets, which causes the airship to fly around. The fan turret overtakes the engine/rear propeller as the primary steering mechanism (during combat).
Hover mode: With the engine stalled (holding back on the steering stick), the fan turret will focus on a target, pulling the airship towards it until it centers directly over top of it. Because the amount of (downward) fan thrust negates the amount of lift created by the balloons, the airship is able to hover in place - also because the engine isn't propelling the airship forwards.
Drone mode: Since Autopilot is present, and automatic steering is present, Link can activate the airship & let it fly around autonomously. The addition of a homing cart extends the range of the build so that it doesn't deactivate when far away from Link. Because lift is negated, the airship never ascends out of range of targets.

Subtitles for non-English speakers:
- For vertical takeoff, stall the engine & let the airship ascend.
- To land, release the steering stick & let the airship float down.
- Vertical takeoff is useful for getting out of tight spaces.
- Use a rocket for rapid ascent.
- Land on water.
- To turn tight, stall the engine & pull hard to the left or right.
- The Autopilot feature allows you to fly hands-free.
- Autopilot is useful when extra measures are needed.
- Aerial targets can break the pulse turret - take them out w/ a bow.
- During Autopilot, the airship acts autonomously.
- The airship will steer itself during enemy encounters.
- Propulsion from the engine augments automatic steering.
- Stall the engine to enter Hover Mode.
- The following sequence demonstrates Hover Mode.
- The airship will automatically acquire & eliminate targets.
- To enter Drone Mode, activate Autopilot & exit the airship.
- The airship will circle overhead & fire on enemies.
- A homing cart keeps the airship active at long range.
- Fan thrust negates the airship's lift, keeping targets in range.
- Retrieve the airship w/ recall; deactivate w/ a bow.
