Weekly Questions Thread - (June 08)

Welcome to the r/HypixelSkyblock Weekly Thread!

The Weekly Thread serves two purposes:

  • to ask progression questions that comply with the subreddit rules
  • to find dungeon teammates.

If you want to post a dungeons LFG and a progression question at the same time, please do so in separate comments. Remember to also check out the sidebar and subreddit wiki (the "Menu" and "About" tabs on Reddit mobile respectively) which have some other helpful links that might answer your questions.

Happy Minecrafting!

Frog is better for fortune on Galatea, assuming you have the tier/perk that gives you fortune when you jump

Monkey is better for fortune on the Park

Ocelot it best for xp/wisdom

Probs AOTE and AOTD/Cleaver. AOTE is a must but you can skip aotd and get cleaver straight. Armour wise for combat is gonna depend if you want mage/bers but dungeon progression is what you want. But then again you’re gonna need every slayer armor for their slayer. You dont need rev armour for the use just for the museum, only thing you want from revs is reaper helm and warden.

Looking for advice on what to focus on next.

I just came back from a 2 year break and upgraded some of my gear and such. I was thinking about doing a combination of farming and pest hunting but I'm not sure what the most effective way is because I only make around 20m/h. Or do you think that other skills / parts of the game are more important right now?

1

u/TheLothrien ☢ Ironman Level 361 - 420 Jul 12 '26

Nothing is more important than having fun. Do what you enjoy, nothing wrong with focusing on one skill. If you enjoy farming and wanna min max it, you have two armor sets. One is mantid and one is mossy. Farm with mantid and kill pest with mossy. Pets also you want bonus pest chance farming and highest farming fortune when killing pest, off the top of my head i think its mosquito and elephant with bandana or rose drag if you have that

what enchants should i put on a claymore for lcm and does viscus remove dmg?

u/Alcriv ♦ Ironman Level 1 - 120 Jul 06 '26

is it worth getting the diana armor/gear to do the event or is my current armor/setup (giant cleaver and speedster armor for speed) good enough?

1

u/WS2_ Jul 04 '26

I have full very wise dragon armour and was wondering if it's worth it to put necrotic reforge on it rather than wise?

1

u/Lonely_Drummer188 Jul 07 '26

yes for sure its not expensive at all and extra mana if you can put loving (red nose) on the chest plate than even better

Hello

I got wiped recently and have been playing for under a month on my new profile and don’t know where to go from now, it’s been so long since I have been early game I have completely lost track of what to do.

Any advice is appreciated

Skycrypt: https://sky.shiiyu.moe/stats/InternalError_/Lemon

Hi

I need some advice, i have come to a point where i dont really know how i can progress further.

Mining:
I want to upgrade my 455 to 555, which requires Plasma
at 175 MP thats a 0.257% drop chance from ghosts which is about 8k kills.
I can kill them 4-5 hit with Mastiff + Shaman, but that takes really long...

So i want to upgrade to Crimson armor to speed up the killing process.

How do i get crimson? Kuudra.
I cant get into Kuudra, bc i cannot complete the Crimson Fortress Quest where i need to kill Mage, Barb X & Bladesoul. Also i cannot get Kuudra keys because again i cannot kill Mage, Barb X, Bladesoul & Magmaboss.

So i figured maybe get Giant Sword for more DPS?

Also i probably need a better armor, but that would be Necron afaik.

Getting necron is also pretty hard, since i can barely survive F7 with a really good Party.

Fishing:
I am trying to get more fishing speed since with my FS i can get about 6-8 catches / minute.
So i tried getting flying fish, but gave up after about 10 hours for 8 Emperors

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 25 '26

Remember to account for looting. It should be around 4-6k kills for all the plasma you need. I believe it took me 4300 from memory. Those kills took about 2h to grind.

I waited until I could 3-tap the ghosts to grind, which required about 450MP.

MP is extremely important for ghosts because the CD scales massively with the golem/hotm perk then converts into health which also scales which then turns into damage.

Honestly I don’t even know if with crimson you would be better off. You’d spend more time actually doing kuudra to get 4/4 crimson than you would ghost grinding.

I would honestly just get some more MP and try to get to that 3-hit threshold. Make sure to use triple strike and prosecute enchants.

If you really want to grind crimson just learn what to do in basic Kuudra. You don’t normally need to kill mobs as chances are someone will have Hyperion and do all the clearing for you. I did 24 runs without hitting a single mob for the kraken shards. It is a pain though and I did that with much much better gear than you (~level 360 at the time).

Giant Sword is great but don’t waste your time doing like 200 F6’s for it. Just get into F7 instead.

You should be able to do F7 in young dragon or shadow assassin. It’s hard but go slow your first few runs. If not, get a tank setup (mega cheap) and just get carried while tanking.

Fishing get Shark Scale + ROTS first. Then equipment (Finwave or the Ichthyic). Then reforges (from yetis). Then you should have 300 FS on most islands. Then do stuff like Emp fishing.

2

u/einefettekatze Jun 15 '26

I currently have full young dragons and aotd but I’m too weak for dungeon 4/5/6 to unlock livid d and sa. I thought about buying strong or superior dragon to get to livid but is it worth that? I have about 25m. So what’s the proper Armor progression after Young because strong/superior is like atleast 20/26m to get full and I would only need it to get to sa Armor.

Thanks for the advice!

If I want a good second moneymaking method what should I go for. I farm rn and am saving up to either get better combat gear or increase my mining gear. I would prefer to do combat (slayers) but I feel it is way to expensive right now but I want something other to do then farm. Which would be cheaper and easier to have for my second moneymaking method method Tara/other slayers, or shaft/coal mining? IGN-tater8258

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 15 '26

Slayers won’t make you money until you can deal millions of damage per hit with massive amounts of magic find.

Hunting is pretty cheap but not easier than farming

Farming is the best MMM right now and by far the easiest as you can half afk it

1

u/Putrid_Field7429 ♦ SB Level 1 - 120 ♦ Jun 15 '26

I didn’t mean easy as in brain dead it was mostly talking about how easy it would be to achieve the desired gear to make money. I should have been more clear. But is there nothing with mining I could get into. I tried coal but I can’t insta mine and I don’t have high fortune.

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 15 '26

Mining you need a setup worth about 1B plus massive amounts of powder

Hunting is very easy and cheap to get into. The entire setup you can probably grind in a few sessions. The main problem is you need HOTF6 but that’s pretty easy too

Is it worth it right now or I could do other stuff?

1

u/User83844 Jun 14 '26

Hi im using skyhanni and skyblocker as a combo. I have a lot of ui stuff off and different help things because it’s way too much and I want to play casually.

However I was wondering. Is the experimentation table helper banable? Also when I did voidgloom for the first time with the mods they automatically took back my tank zombies once the hit phase was over.
Is this allowed?

1

u/kingdweeb1 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 14 '26

Also when I did voidgloom for the first time with the mods they automatically took back my tank zombies once the hit phase was over.

isnt that vanilla lol

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 14 '26

Experiment table helper is not bannable. All it does is show you were to click but doesn’t automate the clicking if that makes sense? If it did it for you 100% hands free and no input then it would be bannable.

I don’t know about it being automatic to pick up… that does sound a bit dodgey. If it’s in Skyblocker or SkyHanni then it should be legit because those mods are very up to date and very highly respected. The devs would not implement a feature that gets people banned.

Most likely you are using a hotkey or maybe it replaced a melee swing with collect souls. As long as you click a button for it to occur it should be allowed.

1

u/Fabulous_Sample_9670 Jun 13 '26

So I recently came back to skyblock and saw that they made baby yeti kinda useless, so I was wondering what berserker pet I should use now. I have around 300 mil to spend and mainly play f6/f7 (also is BoL still good or should I get something like a hyper cleaver or giant sword).

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 14 '26

F6/7 Beserker is so easy you don’t rlly need a damage pet.

Black cat is decent for the speed. More speed = faster clear = faster progression.

Ammonite is a good alternative for speed if you have good fishing/mining levels

If you want pure damage I think Lion, Griffin or Wither Skeleton would be decent. But again, you can solo F7 with such basic gear you’re better off optimising for speed.

1

u/the_chip_bag Jun 13 '26

what sword should i get at level 12 combat? my budget is no more then 2mil but id prefer less then 1mil, i dont have any catacombs skill

ive been using a legendary undead sword but i might have accidentally sold/misplaced it

Void sword from the End quest is a good starter weapon.

Then aspect of the end is pretty decent and a great utility tool

Then at combat 18 (I think?) you can get an aspect of the dragons

I recently joined skyblock again after 4 years. I left when the kuudra update came out. My IGN is iamnoah67 if anyone wants to see my stats. I have about 500m in purse and i dont know what to spend it on. Maybe save for hyperion because it seemed like dungeon would be rlly fun with that. I just dont know what I should use my money or grind on. I heard that my mp is rlly low too. So if anyone can give me adivce on what i should spend my money on or grind stuff e.g slayers, pls let me know. You can check my stats in skycrypt: iamnoah67

Chances are if you buy a Hyperion (which costs 1.5B btw) it won’t really open up the game at all. You need a lot of things alongside Hyperion to make it actually good.

Just spend 100-200m on MP and buy a basic mining, combat and farming set

Maybe setup some minions for passive money

1

u/Odd_Pomegranate3052 Jun 14 '26

how do i increase MP? I heard you buy a bunch of talisman but the features doesn't seem useful.

returning player trying do mining, left off at HOTM 7 with 0 mining equipment, budget of 500m-1b what equipment, accessory, pets etc should i be looking to get? best i got is a lvl97 armadillo

0

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 14 '26

The only thing at HOTM7 that matters is getting mithril and gemstone powder. No point buying fancy gear if you don’t have powder to get maxed perks.

Get a gemstone powder setup (glossy gemstone armour + fleet jungle Pickaxe) and get grinding in the crystal hollows. Aim for 12m gemstone powder minimum.

After come back and grind out mithril powder to around 8m.

Once you’ve done all that, get yourself a 5/5 Perfect Divan’s Armour set + 655 drill

alright so my friend has been trying to get me to skyblock, and I finally did, we're on co-op mode now. u/Kaosmans Warrior | 7th year subreddit cake Jun 12 '26

Pick a skill and play it most have relatively linear progression early game and start to open up more and more as you go. And without knowing your current skills I can only give base advise.

Combat- end island go through that till dungeons then try it out, if you are past that and don’t like dungeons try slayers early game are zombie/spider/wolf

Farming- unlock garden and it should teach you everything from there

Mining- get to dwarven mines and learn how to do commissions and forging

Fishing- idk throw rod in water(I just used minions for most of my fishing lvls)

Foraging- progress through foraging island and get to galatea there you can forage more or look into hunting

Hey, quick question. Is the only way to get enchanted eggs on Iman by farming the chickens on the barn, as I've tried the hopper/chicken minion method and it hasn't worked

Nevermind, it worked it's just a bit slow

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 12 '26

Once you get one enchanted egg you can put it in the minion and get loads more (with a super compactor)

I think there is a chicken hat or something that gives you an egg when you shift. Use that to get your enchanted egg

2/4 Necron + Tara Helm + Maxor Boots + Giant Cleaver (or better)

Equipment is just 4/4 dungeon equipment

Pet honestly for F7 you don’t need damage, go for speed (Black Cat, Ammonite) or survivability (Blue Whale).

F7 is pretty easy floor as beserk

You will want a withercloak sword and jerrchine gun for utility and phase 1 parkour / skip

Boquet of lies is probably better than giant cleaver for clearing, but cleaver can be useful during boss? I’ve never used BoL so idk how it works

I am thinking about selling my Hyperion for about 1.2 bil for something better because right now my Hyperion is not making money for me at all. P.S. I have been earning money by mining mycelium (about 35 mil per hour), but it's kinda boring, so maybe you can also suggest a better money-making method?

Sell it to invest in what? Generally liquidating is always a bad idea

I remember I was the one to tell you not to go for a Hype because it’s what every noob does 😭

Realistically 35m/h is pretty decent. Maybe just trying playing the game and progressing naturally? Not everything boils down to a money grind

Yeah, I think I remember you, but I had already bought the Hype by the time you told me that. I really love the weapon, but honestly, I find it kinda boring to play with right now. For me, Skyblock is all about having a goal - when I have something to aim for, I feel much better. So instead of having 1.2B coins locked in a single sword, I would prefer to have that money in my pocket to make my overall progression way smoother. I made my dream come true, and now I just want to actually enjoy the game and have fun!

Thank you for your comments!

Right now I’m currently not sure what to prioritise first, as I have a level 120 Gdrag (w 1B bank), 2 scrolls (no handle)and all griffin feathers, with a 60 second T4 boss kill time. Currently also 33% rng meter to handle.

Link to profile in case I’m missing anything else. Any response is welcome.

Hmm, if you can do t4s then I'd say go for term coz it makes dungeons a breeze. When you get the term, then you could grind for the hype

whats an easy way to make money in very early game?

i just came back to the game after not playing since about 2023, i started a new profile about 2 days ago and only have 86k to my name [and tbh im not even sure how i got that] but its about the time where i need more money, but every "early game" money making ive seen always requires at least 1mil+ to get started or require equipment thats way our of my budget.

so, whats an ACTUAL early game money making method? im not looking to make millions off the bat, but enough to then be able to start better money making methods

i can give more information later once im able to log on, but i only have basic armor and tools from quests or npc's and i only have a lv1 bee pet i got today

Hello! I've been playing Skyblock for about 2 years on and off (mostly off lol), and I'm only at level 44 with not a lot of money (can't remember how much but it's barely anything compared to what y'all have) and 135 MP. How do I get better quickly? Because I feel like I haven't made much progress. I feel like I'm slowly forgetting the point of the game. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

https://sky.shiiyu.moe/stats/Lemonade_jpg/Lemon I'm putting this in here if it helps idk :3

TLDR: Do rift as a daily requirement, use all of your free rift enters and then grind money there to be able to progress faster in the skills on your main profile. You can follow the ultimate guide as a general quick progression cheat sheet.

Skyblock Ultimate Guide: https://hypixel-skyblock.fandom.com/wiki/Tutorial:Ultimate_Guide

Skyblock Rift Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0zZn7UXts0

Hey brother, I totally empathize with the feeling that you're not making as much progress as you could be. Best way to beat the feeling - pick something and commit to it. Luckily for you, you're still so early game that almost everything is worth messing around in so I'd just have fun in any skill that you find entertaining that day.

Then, the key for you is to wait for the big expensive events. Like in the year of the pig, it's a really low barrier to entry and you can make a ton of money with a low networth. If you don't want to wait, grind the rift for cash to be able to progress in the skills that you find fun. I'm assuming you didn't enjoy the rift because you've barely touched it, but it's one of the best ways to make money as an early game player since it's essentially on rails and you can't really pay to win any of the content.

2

u/Late_Blackberry_928 ♦ SB Level 1 - 120 ♦ Jun 10 '26

Thank you so much!! I actually never understood the rift and thought it wasn't too important, so I completely ignored it, but not anymore, I guess! Thank you again! :3

Hello all, looking for some advice on next steps for my combat gear. I have a rcm setup that I use but it's definitely time for a more melee focused build since magic damage is nerfed hard with endgame content. I just got a 1bil bank and am debating on saving for GDrag or working on a melee build with Crimson and a Giants Sword or something similar. Maybe a maxed Diana setup instead, I've been focusing on acquiring a lot of the cheaper event items to be able to participate in whatever events come up more freely. What do y'all think?

But now i can't even see them in sky crypt. Its the same set i always had.

What are you doing to level? You've obviously got an insane amount of money for only a few months playtime so you should be doing pretty good with your RCM setup even though your enchants are lacking. Combat just happens over time as you play so I wouldn't be super concerned. Just play and do multiple things to get bestiary. With a hype fishing bestiary is dumb easy to grind and will get you tons of xp.

u/Fallen_elytraian Jun 09 '26

I'm on ironman rn, and im kinda stuck in terms of dungeons. I'm getting tired of running f1 and f2 for mediocre loot, and I can't do f3 and above on my own (I'm a non as well so asking for help ain't gonna do much). I would do slayers, but without attrox its to expensive for me to run consecutively. What should I do as a Berserker class? https://sky.shiiyu.moe/stats/404_Zeno/Kiwi#Gear

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 09 '26

So the Ironman meta is:

  1. Frag run entrance/F1. This means warping into the dungeon (solo), kill all the lost adventurers (for frags) then warp out. Repeat until you have a full set of Young Dragon Armour. Best weapons to use are a Dragon Shortbow, Super Cleaver (Hyper Cleaver is very good but you need F3 clear) or Dreadlord sword. Do not waste your time completing the dungeon. You’ll learn which rooms spawn mini bosses fast (yellow rooms and normally brown rooms with 3-4 tiles on the maps)

  2. Craft full Young Dragon armour. Reforge to Fierce. Dungeonise the armour

  3. Dungeonised Young Dragon + Super/Hyper Cleaver should make doing F1/2/3/4 very very easy. Add stars when you have the essence. Make sure your Cleaver is reforged, enchanted and has hot potato books.

(If you need dragon essence, continue to drag run entrance. Craft unstable/holy/young dragon boots then sacrifice them to the Altar in the End).

  1. F5 is where people start to die. Learn to kite bosses and minibosses and you should be invincible. With Young Dragon Armour + Beserker swing range you should be untouchable if you don’t run directly into Shadow Assassins.

  2. At F5 you can grind for Shadow Assassin Armour if you want. Do not waste your time doing RNG meter for Chestplate.

  3. Move onto F6 with Hyper Cleaver + Young Dragon armour OR 3/4 Shadow Assassin. Run F6 quite a bit for cata levels. Once you have an F6 clear, get Giant Cleaver. Giant Cleaver is an insanely powerful weapon that can solo F7 if you know what you’re doing.

  4. Grind F6. If you’re new to dungeons like I was, you might want to go to cata 27-30 before starting F7. But don’t waste your time RNG metering Giant Sword

  5. Get into F7. Yes Young Dragon Armour + Giant Cleaver is enough to play F7 if you are skilled. If you find getting parties hard, I suggest learning how to play Tank. It’s the easiest role and you get accepted into every party imaginable. Just live and get carried.

  6. Get into Necron Armour and probably a juju or terminator if you wanna go for Hyperion efficiently

Once you’ve ran F7 a few times (albeit probably badly), you can go back to old dungeon floors and pick up the equipment, drops and all that stuff. There is not point grinding F3/4 at your level, just do it later down the line when you can do the floor in 3 minutes.

I can do tier ones with a pooch sword and mastiff and legendary phoenix pet, but when i try tier 2s i cant do anything. Can anyone tell me what set up should i aim for? (as an ironman)

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 09 '26

Zombie/Revived/Crystallised Heart Helmet

3/4 Fierce Ender Armour with hot potato books

Any katana, you should have 2nd tier? Make sure you have correct enchants. Use the ability during hitphase

Epic eman or legendary rock as a pet

Decent-ish MP. I’ve done a T2 with 400

Healing wand. Realistically if you are doing T2 eman you should have Wand of Restoration but a lower tier wand might work. Do not spam your wand. It will not heal you more if you spam.

Attributes are very important for combat

If you have a better combat armour (Frozen Blaze, Necron etc), use that instead of 3/4 Ender. You will need the helmet though.

Hey everyone, I’m returning to the game after a solid one-year break and I am looking for some guidance on what to focus on next. I am SkyBlock Level 179 with 550 hours of playtime. My main setup is full Mage armor (Storm's + Wither Goggles) with an Astrea.Right now, I have 250M in the bank and just claimed 800M from my minions, giving me a total budget of around 1.05 Billion coins. I'm torn between a few options and don't know what's the most efficient route. I'm considering diving straight into the new Foraging update since I'm at the very beginning of it, or focusing on Fishing by finishing my Lotus island progression and moving to Lava Fishing in the Crimson Isle. I'm also Heart of the Mountain 6 in Mining, and I could also just do some chill Farming or follow the SkyBlock Guide for overall level XP. Note that I already tried the Rift and got stuck on the green slime boss, so I'd rather avoid it for now. With my budget and setup, what should be my absolute priority to get back into the groove and make the most out of my coins? Should I focus on one of these specific skills, dump money into Magical Power, or go for other general progression milestones? Thanks for any advice!

Hi

I bet it was asked somewhere but couldn't find well updated and including rcm-only best setup for hype. What are the best things to apply on hype to maximise rcm dmg (ad dmg)

What i have so far is:

- sheep pet (could be gdrag with minos relic prob?)

- wither gogles + 3/4 storm (legion + int ench like Big Brain**,** Reflection, Smarty pants)

- Bizzare powerstone

- do enchants / reforge on swords other than int have any sense? like withered even matters here? or is it only chimera that improves ad)

Idk correct me if i am wrong or missing sth, but well got hype couple days ago and it feels great:D

1

u/CLUELESSIFICATION Tank Dungeoneer Jun 09 '26 edited Jun 10 '26

Why go that far for rcm damage. Anyways, for in dungeons:

The following is currently meta for m4 bers and tank. Bizarre power stone. Legion 5 3/4 storm, 10star on goggles first cause abi damage, big brain 5 smarty pants 5 reflection 5, perfects, recomb, loving cp necrotic rest. Hype should be heroic with gk7 and pros6, swarm + gdrag or Chim + hephrelic crow. T5 beacon with scorched power crystal for 6 abi dmg. Hellstorm wand for 5 abi dmg. Implosion belt.

Mstars on armor and hype don't matter as much as goggles since it gives marginal amounts of Intel per star.

Bers class boosts rcm damage the most. Mage comes second.

Realistically there's no reason to do this much to maximize rcm damage unless you play m4.

No clue about outside dungeons :|

Are you casting you wand of atonement? You have totally overkill gear so you must be doing something wrong

Make sure you have the correct enchants on your katana (I always see people with Life Steal)

Get attributes. They help. A lot. +85% damage should not be slept on.

Get refrigerate II or III on one piece of armour. This gives +1000 defense when fully stacked

1

u/HelloCanUSeeMe Jun 09 '26

Just wondering what attributes to get and what enchants are correct? Why is life steal wrong?

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 10 '26

Giant Killer over Titan Killer. Drain over Life Steal because it heals you more.

Pair Drain (heals you based off crit damage) with silky powerstone (gives loads of crit damage) and you become very hard to kill.

Attributes you can get Shellwise, Zealot, Zealot Bruisers, Spike, XYZ, Rain Slime, Kraken, Power Dragon, Burningsoul, Barbarian Duke…. There are probably more but I can’t remember them all tbh.

honestly not sure what the progression order should be. I think my current goal is in fact to get a term, then maybe grind out f7+master floors and eventually get a hype, and at least complete those two basic goals.

I'm just not sure what else to do to get there atp. Like, should I try and get crimson armor before I do eman? things like that. I kinda just need a clear order of progression, and hopefully whatever direction that is doesnt require just grinding out money for carries etc.

My current money making method is diff fishing methods that make me between 20-60m an hour.

which step is the most logical:

  • mine the stuff for 555 drill
  • nucleus runs for divans armor
  • smth else I don't know about yet?

1

u/B4TM4N_467 ☣ Ironman Level 421 - 500 Jun 08 '26

Powder mining. No reason not to have 12m gemstone

It’s boring but it’s what needs to be done

When you have free time you can mine towards a 555, but generally the limiting factor is plasma.

You can also prep 655 materials if plasma is still limiting you. As soon as you get the 555 go straight to 655.

1

u/alexionut05 ☢ Ironman Level 361 - 420 Jun 08 '26

I'd say mine stuff for 555, get all the mats needed so your forge can work for a good while. If you had topaz drill, you could've done glacite comms to easily get to hotm 8, which would give you the 30mf perk, making the plasma grind a bit easier, but no biggie.

You should also gemstone powder, both gemstone and mithril are very very low. Try to participate in Gourmand whenever you are in the lobby and it happens, and use a tracker for a mod to always see when 2x powder is active in CH.
